This prologue won't last too much longer, but I thought I'd give you all a chance to introduce yourselves and give some basic reactions. After this we'll skip to when a maester arrives to help in her recovery and teach her the Common Tongue, and some intrigues start for the others. If you have any suggestions for where you'd want your characters to start in the new threads, let me know.

A thought - as cool as the new die roller tool is, the image is rather massive and might break the flow of the story if we included them in IC posts. Should we set up a separate thread for dice rolls?

A right, I went through DeviantART's stock photos collection and found a few that I thought might represent places on the Rock. There can be seen here. Each one (Save Irma's) has a small description creating some history for the island. Need to click on the pictures to see the description. Password is magic

I've developed an excel spreadsheet that can randomly generate a house, including arms if anyone wants it. it creates a random number between 3-18 for historical events, but otherwise it's all as in the book. It also can't do Infrastructure events, so when one pops up, it'll say Infrastructure instead of a die roll, just add your d6 in to two stats as normal on the end. same goes for bonus dice from PCs. the Arms creation sheet is still a work in progress, but so far works well enough.

That sounds cool, I'll definitely try it out sometime.
Anyway, I've had more going on this first week than expected (we're looking for a new housemate), but no worries, should put up a new thread pretty soon.

Courtnay, if you're going to argue with the suggestion of taking back Alys to the mainland or make any other political move with Paul, let me know about your intrigue strategy and roll. I'm still getting over some drinking with a housemate and his friends, so I may edit or add some things for everyone tomorrow when I'm sobered up - let me know if anything's unclear.

Intrigue stuff:
Courtnay's disposition towards Paul is dislike, as the man is plainly an effeminate fool.
Courtnay's technique for this pass is Convince. Can I use Deception for this roll? Courtnay is only feigning his concern for Alysneri and doesn't care in the slightest about her health, but rather thinks that it would allow them to one-up the Brentons and serve as a source of prestige to their House if they have a Valyrian ward.
Off to the dice thread to roll for Status and Deception (presuming you allow it to be a Deception test...if not then we'll just ignore it and I'll roll a Persuasion test later.)

Paul, unfortunately your influence was reduced to 0 by his DR. He also didn't get any influence over you. You can roll again and try for more degrees of success or change strategy - go ahead and roll for 3 rounds and I'll figure out the victor then continue the rping.

Thanks to Chris for the pic!
Davide, you can roll initiative and your first round's attacks (we'll treat the practice weapons the same as your real ones, but injuries/wounds will wear off quicker and there won't be death, etc. for defeat).

Ser Courtnay's techniques and thought processes:
Round 1: Ser Courtnay Considers, inwardly seething and wondering how much the Brentons have paid this fool to humiliate them.
Round 2: Having taken a moment to recover, Ser Courtnay repeats his first argument, stating his worry for Alysneri and that he thinks it's a bad idea to try to move her. Technique is Convince.
Round 3: If Paul is still uncertain, Courtnay will flatter him. 'Of course, milord, the decision is entirely in your capable hands.' Technique is Charm.

This is why you should leave the intrigues to those characters built towards it... but I'm off watching a fight, a far more entertaining activity. You can argue with the geese and idiots.
