The creation of this board marks a new beginning for our gaming group... ok maybe not, but it does accompany the ending of the Nidaros campaign, at least for now. Due to my long absence, most, if not all of you, have lost connection to your characters and/or the game world, which would make it impractical to try to pick back up. So, I'm going to shelve it for now.
So that leaves what to do. sleepingdragon is still running his Glacier Keep game, so we might as well let that finish. However, we should decide what to do after that.
sleepingdragon has wanted to run Dark Harbour, an IH module, followed by Blood Storm. Skyman and myself both have ideas for GURPS games, a Sci-fi one from Sky, and a couple of more fantasyish ones from me. If anyone has any other games they'd like to run, post them here, and we'll have a poll set up in the next few days to decide.

I say we add Snorth as a new direction, our compasses have been stagnant for far too long and it's time to move forward!
More seriously...Andros will probably take between 4 to 6 sessions to finish off, depending on how much faff time we have. So we don't need to decide immediately.

Yeah, I am interested in Dark Harbour/Blood Storm. As for GURPS, I am utterly clueless about that system.
Cheers
Sappy.

The hardest part about GURPS is character generation. Once you've made your character, the rest is easy. It only uses d6s. I've never played it myself, but I'm very eager to do so. You can get GURPS lite from Steve Jackson's website here somewhere. Doesn't have all the advantages/disadvantages and some other things, but has the basics.

Congratulations on creating the nice board CH As some of you know, I'm currently working on two settings - at least one of which I hope to run for you lot Neither of them is complete right at this minute, but should be ready in the next couple of months. The big campaign is a Warhammer version of An'har, which I ran for a year here at the table using Iron Heroes. SD has done a huge amount helping to convert the world but there's still some work to be done getting it all together. The other is set in Victorian England. I'm currently creating rules for that based largely on d20 Cthulhu with some d20 Modern thrown in, and am now tweaking it about to fit. This could make a useful filler, as it can be episodic. It strikes me that it would be fun to have a pbp game too. Not to replace the games on OpenRPG but as well as. It would allow those unable to commit to the live game to keep playing and stay part of our group. Also it would be orientated less towards die rolling and more towards story-telling, which has always been a strong element of our games. Idris

I'm still working on my primary GURPS setting, but I've got a good amount done on the four character types. Now it's just world building and campaign making.
Regarding the pbp board, that's what I was thinking when I made it.

Pbp would be fun, I haven't done any in a few months since my last campaign fizzled out. I'm thinking that if you wanted to run a pbp game, whenever a combat came up we could arrange a time and run it over OpenRPG. That way you'd not get fights that take three weeks or longer as I've seen in some pbps.

I actually have an idea for a campaign that could work rather well as pbp I'll have a think about it - probably won't be doing much for the next few weeks as SD and I are Script Frenzying!

not sure why this thread has been moved to the non-game forum seeing as it's about possible future games
I thought this would be the OOC forum for non-rp related stuff?

It's not relating to a game specifically. It's more of a discussion about our future operations. Which does mostly boil down to what game we're playing next...
