This is the name of my horror game to be run sometime in november while Paul's off writing. Had a few problems working on it the other night, one of which was in which setting it should be.
The setting will determine what kind of environment the game will take place in, what options you have available to you, and a few other things, most of them important, hense the first poll.
Fantasy Setting: The small town of Crystal Lake, mostly forgotten by the empire, now mainly used by caravaneers as a stopping point on the trade route to the east.
A low-magic world, with some monsters, but most have been beaten back by the empire, there's also non-humans, but they are few. The Elves, mostly secluded in their forests, have had a sharp drop-off in birth rates, combined with their already low numbers makes them worry about their race's future. The Dwarves suffered a catastrophic loss when the largest of their subterranian cities collapsed during a series of earthquakes across the continent, and now number less than ten thousand.
Modern Setting: A small skiing resort in the Canadian Rockies named Crystal Lake. The resort holds more than just the hotel and skiiing facilities, a small town has formed near the hotel, mostly populated by the resort workers due to the remoteness of the resort.
Modern day setting. The only magic is new age stuff that doesn't do anything (but don't say that to the people to think it does).
Sci-fi Setting: The Crystal Lake research colony orbits one of the moons of a gas giant in the Daneb system. Performing research mainly on the flora of the moon below.
Futuristic setting with some superscience concessions. Travel between Sol and Daneb is acomplished through a jump gate, and artifical gravity makes space habitats realistic. Daneb is home to six planets, two small rocky ones (Daneb I and V), an earth-sized barren planet with two small irregular moons (Daneb II), an earth-sized toxic planet (Daneb III), a large gas giant with seven moons (Daneb IV, moons are desiganted Daneb IV-I and so on), and a medium sized gas planet (Daneb VI). No intelligent life has been found on any planet or moon, but the 3rd moon of Daneb IV (which Crystal Lake orbits) is a highly forested moon with a large amount of plant life and many species of unintelligent animal life.
So, vote for your favorite setting, don't worry about anything from me, I havn't invested enough time into any of these to be particularly attached to any of them. Still not sure what system to use for it... I'll decide based on the setting choice.
